The Art Of Saying No

THE ART OF SAYING NO The art of saying NO is a very complicated one especially when it comes as a student, college graduate or even a working adult. We are often caught in circumstances with very limited resources and strict adherence to our time and peace of mind. In such situations, resources(time, peace of mind) are limited and to be able to maximize those, we often find it difficult to say NO. Every time as a student, when we choose our friends over our academics, our leisure over labour and fun over hardwork, we say NO to good academic performance, NO to knowledge and most importantly NO to discipline. We often find it very challenging to say NO to our friends and family because we're afraid that might spoil our positive connection with them. Here are a few ways to resolve this issue. Every time we say YES to something, we are also saying no to other things. We need to comprehend the consequences of our actions correctly. When we're unclear about what we want, we cannot act out of rationality. Refrain from saying 'YES' directly at the moment. Take time from the individual to go through your decision and introspect yourself in the mean time. This way, you'll be able to make better decisions. Say NO by mentioning your commitment to the person or work. Be it your friend or your boss, let them know how much they our their work means to you and explain your obligations politely. This will help you maintain relationships while valuing your time. The 'NO' word prevents you from unnecessary obligations. So, use it and frame your sentences wisely because your words have a lot of power. Always stay polite in your tone and humble in your approach. This way, the next person would know that your intentions are noble and that you have limited constraints. They may try to understand you. These were a few tips for practicing this much needed art today. Hope you find it helpful!
